Nurturing Knowledge
Nurturing Knowledge School offers quality after-school programs onsite at Loyal Heights. Families may choose from a two, three, four, or five days a week schedule, based on availability.
Our After School Program offers a nurturing and experiential environment for students to grow, learn, create, share, and most importantly, be themselves. Students are offered time to explore and engage in enrichment activities of their choice as well as work on projects with teachers to help cultivate their in-depth interests and ideas. Our program and projects enhance the school experience by supporting classroom learning, positive social interactions, and student-to-teacher relationships.
Our Drop-In Program is available for families who would like to attend NKS on a one-time or irregular basis (pending available space).
Our Full-Day Program is offered throughout the school year when Loyal Heights is closed for Professional Development and holiday breaks. Full Day program is available for NKS students and drop-in students at an additional charge.

Choir
Loyal Heights music teacher, Ms. Chutich, leads an after-school choir club. Sessions 2022-23 have not been scheduled yet. Check the LHPTA weekly enews for potential updates.
Girls on the Run
Girls on the Run is a life-changing program for 3rd to 5th-grade girls that promotes girl empowerment by teaching life skills through lessons and running. Session dates vary from year to year. Check out the Girls on the Run website.
Off Site
Washington Karate Association offers transportation to their program. They provide instruction that is true to the spirit of traditional Karate-Do, a code of ethical behavior having self-enlightenment and community betterment as its end goals.
Illumination Learning Studio (ILS) offers transportation to their program. They offer cultural, performing, and fine arts opportunities.
Organizations That Offer Before & After School Care
Loyal Heights Elementary has partnered with several local agencies to provide great before- and after-school programs for your child.
- The Ballard Boys and Girls Club and the Salmon Bay Boys and Girls Club also provide transportation to and from Loyal Heights Elementary and their facilities for before- and after-school care.
- Seattle Public Schools will transport your child to and from the Small Faces Child Development Center for their before- and after-school program
