Testing Schedule

Spring testing will begin soon for the 3rd – 5th graders for the SBA and WCAS. Please try to arrange any appointments, planned days off and vacations around your students’ testing days. Make up days will be scheduled if a student is absent. The MAP testing begins on May 5th.

SBA / WCAS

• 3rd Grade – 5/5, 5/7, 5/12, 5/14 – each day at 8:10 a.m.-9:45 a.m.
• 4th Grade – 5/5 & 5/7, 10:55 a.m.-12:15 p.m. 5/12 & 5/14, 12:55 p.m.-2 p.m.
• 5th Grade – 5/5, 5/7, 5/12, 5/14 – each day at 10:55 a.m.-12:15 p.m. and 5/19, 8:45 a.m.-10:20 a.m.
• Split grade classes – Hamel’s 4/5 will test with 4th grade days, Schroder’s 3rd graders will test with the 3rd grade days.

Here are some tips for families to help students prepare for testing.

1. Make sure your child gets plenty of rest the night before the test.
2. On the morning of the test, your child needs to get up in plenty of time so he/she won’t feel rushed.
3. Feed your child a good breakfast. Research shows that children do better on tests if they have had a good breakfast.
4. Do as much as you can to make your child feel comfortable. Try not to say things to make him/her/them feel more nervous.
5. Reassure your child that no matter the outcome of the test you will still love him/her/them. Encourage them to simply do their best.
