Halloween!
School costume guidelines and an ask for front door help
Halloween Policy:
Here are our Halloween celebration guidelines for how we will celebrate this event at Loyal Heights on Friday, October 30th, only if there is a class or grade sponsored activity, and only if a teacher has communicated to families in advance. Here are our guidelines:
- Students cannot wear masks that cover their face.
- Costume changes will not be permitted during school as this has involved too much teacher support in years past.
- Students must avoid scary costumes as some students/parents have identified this as a trigger. This can include costumes with blood and weapons.
- Costumes that perpetuate stereotypes about cultures are harmful and have no place in our community.
- No inflatable costumes.
Teachers who plan to celebrate Halloween during class will do so while covering content. This includes, but is not limited to Halloween themes in art, writing, reading, and math
Halloween Helpers:
Boo! Can you come a half hour early or stay a half hour after your students Halloween party? Please consider helping out the front office and open door for volunteers and visitors. Halloween party day is our busiest day of the year for visitors and volunteers. Last year, 175. That’s a lot of door dinger. Give the office a treat on trick or treat day!
