Kindergarten

The Great Migration
Students learned about the Great Migration by studying mentor artist Jacob Lawrence. They then created their own North and South moments.

First Grade

Frida Kahlo inspired Self-Portraits
Students studied mentor artist Frida Kahlo. They then practiced observational drawing using mirrors. Finally, they created fantasy surroundings. Students utilized graphite and water-color paint.

Second Grade

Alma Thomas Collage
Students studied mentor artist Alma Thomas and her use of abstract art and explosive color to highlight nature. Students then created their own “flickers of color.”

Third Grade


Third Grade was working on pieces that took more than a month to finish.

Fourth Grade

Metal Embossing
Students studied the history of repousse and neurographic art. Students then used a combination of geometric and organic shapes to create zentangles.

Fifth Grade

5th grade worked with TAG on Alice in Wonderland Jr and also practiced kiln clay techniques.
