Loyal Heights Elementary

Hour of Code

Hour of Code

Hour of Code is returning to Loyal Heights Elementary!  Your kids loved it last year and we need volunteer help! Here are some details.

December 11th: Assembly
December 12th: K-5 Coding (Coding Experience Not Required)

Why Hour of Code?  In our tech-driven world, future success in any field will rely on understanding technology. That’s why every student should get early exposure to computer science — to unlock their potential to create, explore, and thrive. The Hour of Code makes coding accessible to all and helps close the diversity gap in computer science, where only 18% of degrees go to women and 19% to underrepresented groups.  Our school is excited to join millions worldwide in The Hour of Code during Computer Science Education Week!  The Hour of Code is a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify code and show that anybody can learn the basics.   If you have specific Hour of Code question, please reach out to Julie Smith at julies1916@gmail.com.
In the coming days, each class will have a hour of fun and engaging learning about code.
