News and Events

Bike Rodeo
Back by popular demand is the 3rd annual Bike Rodeo! Please join us on Saturday, April 26th from 10am - Noon, at the Loyal Heights Elementary playground. There will be stations set up to test your bike skills, helmet sales, Bike to School registration, snacks, and a bike maintenence station.
Volunteers of course are needed! Please contact Paula Shaw, gpshaw@comcast.net, if you can lend a hand. We would love to have some of the 4th and 5th graders volunteer to work the stations (similar to what was done this year in PE).
May is bike to school month around the region. LHE will be actively encouraging kids to participate. Information will be available at the bike rodeo, at our first welcome table on April 28, and in the hallway near the office.
LHE Day Out at the Mariners
Join fellow LHE families Sunday, April 27, 2014 for the 1:10 game The Seattle Mariners vs. the Texas Rangers. Tickets are $11 each, checks made out to LHPTA. It is "Boeing salute to Kid's Day" and includes a Robinson Canoe shirt for kids 14 & under. We have 180 reserved tickets (300 view level), but can always get more. Please print this form and send payment to the office on or BEFORE April 9th.
Loyal Heights Science Fair 2014
May 1st 6-8pm
All students are encouraged to participate in this fun family event!!! (5th graders are required to participate)
Go explore the fascinating world of science on your own, with a friend or a parent! The goal is to have fun with science and share your findings at the fair!
Presentations may take any form to convey the student scientist's research and learning, such as poster boards, displays or demonstrations. They may be simply informational or presented in the traditional Problem-Hypothesis-Experiment-Observations-Conclusion format. Students should present their findings with minimal help from their adult partners.
Questions? Want to volunteer? Please ask Margaret at mpatpjr@aol.com.
Didn't Make it to Auction? You Can Still Fund a Dream!
If you were not able to attend the auction but would still like to make a donation to our Fund-A-Dream campaign, please click here.  Your contribution will help us raise the funds necessary for technology upgrades in our school and classrooms.  Our teachers are in desperate need of updated computers, laptops and iPads.  This year's funds will also go toward a security system for our school to help keep our students and staff safer.  All Fund a Dream donations are 100% tax deductible!
