WELCOME Loyal Heights Students and Families to the 2018-2019 School Year!

The school year started off with a bang beginning with the Ribbon-Cutting event and Family Celebration on September 4th. A huge thank you goes out to our Loyal Heights Parent-Teacher Association, volunteers, staff, neighbors, families, students, and local businesses and organizations for making it a true celebration of our children returning to the community.
There are new systems in place that the staff are implementing in ensuring that students are safe and be where they are supposed to be:

    • Beginning of the School Day - Students are to wait on the playground before the school day begins. Students must be supervised by parents or community on the playground before 7:35am. Playground supervision is provided at 7:35am. Teachers, then, have the opportunity to prepare for the school day in the morning and will pick up students on the playground by 7:55am. Exterior doors in to the Commons/lunchroom will be propped open at 7:30am for those who need bathroom access.
    • End of the School Day - Students walk from their classrooms to the playground with their teachers. Nurturing Knowledge and all enrichment clubs will be situated in the Commons/lunchroom so that teachers can safely disperse students to their appropriate after school care. Students that attend Boys & Girls Club, Illumination, Karate Club, Small Faces, and bus riders exit through the front door of the school building where they are met by their afterschool program and ensured that the student is safely on the correct transportation. Exterior doors to the Commons/lunchroom will be propped open from the end of the school day for 30 minutes. If at any time you need to enter the building, please go to the front doors to get buzzed in.
This system minimizes student congestion when 456 students enter and exit the building and gets kids to where they are safe and accounted for.

Our school's amazing playground will be unlocked and open to the community on the weekends.

As the year gets underway, please be mindful of our bell start and end times for this school year:
    • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 7:55am–2:25pm.
    • Every Wednesday: 7:55am-1:10pm
